The Isle Mill designer Mairi MacLeod is featured in Homes and Interiors Scotland this month. We are delighted to hear of Mairi’s success and very proud of her feature in a national interior magazine. In her feature, Mairi discusses waste in the textile industry which she is very passionate about.
Mairi joined The Isle Mill in November 2018. Mairi’s position with us is sponsored by The Livery Company The Worshipful Company of Weavers. They work with textile companies in the weaving sector to provide opportunities for young design graduates to work on placements in the industry. The Isle Mill is very committed to creating opportunities for young people in the textile industry. We are also passionate about innovation, creativity and development and as such are committed to investing in design.
Prior to joining our team, Mairi graduated from Heriot Watt University with a BA Honours degree in Textiles. Following this, Mairi won and completed a two-month intensive course at the LVMH Textile Training Centre at Dumfries House which was run by The Prince’s Trust Foundation.
Mairi is enjoying working with our talented design team and learning from their knowledge and experience. Currently, Mairi is working with the team on creating a new collection to be launched at Proposte Fair in April.
